Book illustration
Background: NFI's (Norwegian Film Institute) employee Torkell Sætervadet is a real film enthusiast and that has resulted in him being one of the world's experts on how to set up a perfect movie theatre. He has lately written a handbook for everyone who is working with this on a daily basis and he asked SKIN to help him draw the illustrations for the book. Since this is mostly a technical handbook, it of course includes a lot of illustrations and photos.
Challenge: To create a classical style that works on all illustrations. The high level of details and the high number of illustration made this project very intense.
Solution: We developed a set of illustration element (lines, arrows etc) and chose a font that gave us the possibilities to create all illustrations from the same element. To create a more classical feeling, most of the illustrations were placed in frames.
